Eton College was founded in 1440 by Henry VI as "Kynge's College of Our Ladye of Eton besyde Windesore" In the early 1990s, Taylor of Old Bond Street received an honorable and exciting request from Eton College, which later became the basis for the blue series Eton College Collections.

Henry's goal and desire was to promote knowledge, something that was very dear to him. He supported 70 poor boys, known as King's Scholars, who received their education funded. Other boys could also receive free education but had to pay for their stay at the boarding school.
The college was to be run by a provost and 10 fellows, with a headmaster overseeing the education. There was a chapel and a choir. Everything was financed by Henry VI by granting a large amount of land, rights, and privileges, such as the right to swans on the River Thames.
The school is located about an hour's drive from central London in Windsor, not far from Windsor Castle.
It was not surprising that Taylor of Old Bond Street received this request. The shop and barbershop on Jermyn Street were a popular destination for royalty and society men in London, located just a stone's throw from Buckingham Palace.
Thus, Taylor of Old Bond Street started operations at Eton College. Prince William started at Eton College in 1995, and Harry started in 1997. William and Harry's friends had their hair cut at the salon, but not William and Harry themselves. We can speculate that this was perhaps for security and privacy reasons.

An honorable request and assignment from Eton College
In the early 1990s, Taylor of Old Bond Street, a well-known destination on Jermyn Street in London, received a specific request from Eton College. The request was simple and straightforward: Could Taylor of Old Bond Street allow their barber to open a barbershop and gentlemen's hair salon at Eton College? It was not surprising that Taylor of Old Bond Street received this request.
