Pre-shave. Use a pre-shave product for a comfortable head shave. It gives a little extra protection for your scalp and makes the razor glide smoothly over the skin. Thereby, you reduce the risk of irritation.
Great tools do half of the job. A razor specifically designed for head shaving is preferred because you get a natural movement and can keep a good line when you shave. Rinse off the lather after shaving, finish with cool water to calm the skin and close the pores.

If you cut yourself, use a Alum Block right on your wet head to stop the bleeding. When you are done, use a toner with a cotton pad to prepare the scalp before moisturising or add some Headblade Clearhead. A good choise is The Cool Fix from Shaveworks.
