Fine Badger and Best Badger – are they the same in practice?

The terms Fine Badger and Best Badger are often used interchangeably and in most cases refer to the same type of badger hair. They describe softer and more flexible hairs than Pure Badger, but not as exclusive as Super or Silvertip.

There is no fixed industry standard defining the difference between Fine and Best Badger. The distinction more often lies in how the manufacturer has sorted the hair and constructed the brush rather than in the name itself. Therefore, two shaving brushes with different labels may feel very similar in both performance and comfort.
