Barrel diameter and curl size

The diameter of the curling iron determines the size of the curls. A smaller diameter creates tighter, more defined curls, while a larger diameter produces soft waves and a more relaxed look.

• 19–22 mm – Small, bouncy curls.
• 25–28 mm – Classic curls and natural waves.
• 32 mm and above – Large, loose waves with plenty of movement.

Ceramic and tourmaline – what does it mean?

Many curling irons feature ceramic or tourmaline coating. Ceramic ensures even heat distribution, while tourmaline helps reduce static electricity and frizz. This contributes to smoother results and gentler styling, especially with regular use.

Temperature and hair type
