Montale Paris was founded in 2003 by perfumer Pierre Montale. Inspired by his travels and experiences in the Middle East, he brought the traditions and precious raw materials of Oriental perfumery back to Paris. In particular, oud – a deep, complex and highly prized fragrance material – became central to the Montale universe and remains one of the house's most distinctive signatures.
